The Philly Pretzel Factory

Philly Pretzel Factory
553 Scranton Carbondale Hwy
 Scranton, PA

On Wednesday, April 6, I was passing by Philly Pretzel Factory and thought I would give it a try. I've passed by numerous times but never had the chance to stop in. Here is my families review of our experience.

Location: (B-) Found right in the middle of Dickson City shopping centers. The Parking lot was tight and you could miss the entrance if you are not aware of it's location.  I managed through without a glitch.

Cleanliness: (A) Even though the pretzels are obviously made on premises, the place was immaculate. You can actually see the production system from the front counter, making the pretzels without skipping a beat, and it looked clean and sanitized. With the large amounts of flour and dough being processed, they did a great job making the store presentable.

Variety: (A) Very creative menu. I mean, really, how much can you do with a soft pretzel. Well, Philly Pretzel Factory, has a fun menu the entire family will enjoy. I think I counted 9 different dips to go with the wide variety of pretzel products like Pretzel Dogs, Pretzel Spicy Sausage, Buffalo Chicken and Philly Cheesesteak Pretzels. They also have party trays that seem to be an extremely great value for any occasion. Check out their website: www.phillysoftprezelfactory.com for more locations!

Hospitality: (A-) The cashier was great, she looked very busy making fresh pretzels. She welcomed me with a smile and was prompt in getting my order together. There is a $10 minimum on Credit Card purchases, which can be kind of tough when your buying pretzels. I understand why they have to do it, but if I didn't have all the kids at home I would have had a lot of pretzels to eat, lol.

Quality: (A) When I walked in the first thing I noticed, other then the huge pretzel rolling machine, was the display counter with pre-made pretzels of various variety. It was 4:00PM so I was kind of worried what I may find as far as freshness. All the products looked as if they were just baked, I was very pleased to the quality and cleanliness of the display. The kids loved the Rivets (Pretzel Bites), they were gone in seconds. I had a Cinnamon Sugar coated pretzel with chocolate dip. It was outstanding, the flavor was original compared to other brands I've had before. My Husband is a Philly Boy so soft pretzels were one of the major food groups when he was a child, so were Cheesesteaks. He couldn't pass on the Cheesesteak Pretzel. He said the two definitely are a unique mix and would recommend it to try.

Value: (A+) I originally walked in for a quick snack, maybe just a pretzel to get me over to dinner. Since there was a $10 minimum on the Credit Card, I was fortunately asked to get some additional products. Well, $10.00 at The Philly Pretzel Factory was enough to get a good portioned snack for each of my five children. Where else can you do that?

Overall: (A) If you are looking for a quick snack to hold you over, this is a nice stop. The Philly Soft Pretzel Factory gives an original twist to the art of Soft Pretzels. The children were extremely happy and more then likely will be pointing out The Philly Pretzel Factory every time we pass it now.

Will I Go Back: Absolutely, in fact check out the display on this review in reference to National Pretzel Day, April 26. The kind people at The Philly Pretzel Factory will be supplying each visitor with a FREE pretzel. I will be stopping by to get another taste!
